"Vary Your Approach to Get Past the Gatekeeper"

If you've ever had difficulty getting past a gatekeeper, remember that Albert Einstein's definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Often people will try to reach a decision maker by telephone and get screened out by a gatekeeper. While some give up, others just keep calling back. Not surprisingly, they usually get the same result.

Next time you have trouble getting through to a particularly hard-to-reach prospect, try varying your approach. Send an interesting promotional product to the prospect... followed by an email... followed by a telephone call very early or very late in the day... followed by a letter... followed by a fax. You get the idea. Vary the approach to reach the prospect in lots of different ways, from lots of different angles.
By approaching your prospect using multiple methods, you increase the likelihood of getting through and decrease the likelihood of gatekeeper interference.
