Take the Time to Learn from Others' Experiences
Learning from other people's experiences can also be very valuable. If I notice behavior in another person that seems to create favorable results, I can emulate that behavior. If I learn of situations where people have engaged in harmful behavior, I can avoid that behavior and make my own life better.
Also remember that time does not always equal experience. Some people claim to have many years of experience, when in fact, they really have only weeks or months worth of experience that they have repeated over and over again.
Look at the experiences of your life objectively. Determine which ones forged your character and made you a better person and which slowed you down and got you off track. Then focus on creating and repeating the most favorable experiences to build the life you want.
